On April 18 and 19, The New School’s HAL: GD team will travel to Vanderbilt University in Nashville and meet with project partners from 20 cities across the country. Building upon principles identified in January’s workshop, the partner meeting will give the entire HAL: GD network an exciting chance to further shape the project.

– Designing narrative frameworks for the exhibit and web
– Establishing civic engagement goals
– Creating opportunities for student exchange for fall 2015

The Nashville meeting will coincide with 2015 National Council on Public History Annual Conference as well as the Re-Visioning Justice in America Conference, which will feature acclaimed civil rights lawyer and advocate, Michelle Alexander; founder and Executive Director of the Equal Justice Initiative, Bryan Stevenson; and Howard Zehr, a pioneer in restorative justice and professor at Eastern Mennonite University, as keynote speakers.
